Worship is something deeper than songs, chords, and good feelings. It’s a response we see throughout the entire Bible — an expression of our lives before God, and one of the ways we give Him glory, while also being a “place” where He graciously meets us. In this course, you’ll discover how we as leaders can steward worship for God’s glory, and how music itself can communicate what is true and biblical about who He is.

But we don’t stop with the spiritual side. You’ll also receive concrete music-theory tools that help you grow musically — whether you sing, play, or lead. We dive into what actually happens when you lead worship: in you, in the room, and in the hearts of the people encountering God.

We explore how to build a healthy and safe worship team, how to think holistically when creating setlists, and how to shape environments where people can meet Jesus.

This is teaching for those who want to grow — in character, in faith, in creativity, and in musical strength.

Here, you’ll be challenged, equipped, and inspired to play a part in something far bigger than yourself: leading people into the presence of God.

Worship is led almost every day in the IMI movement. There are many opportunities here for you to develop your gifts and to get to know personally all the people who are connected to the worship environment in IMI-kirken, IMPULS or Åpen himmel.

For those who choose Worship as their specialization, the school year becomes a unique opportunity to dive deep into worship, creativity, and leading others in praise. You become part of the established worship environment in Impuls and IMI Church, playing alongside experienced musicians — joining a living, vibrant community that burns with a passion to lead people closer to God through music.

Throughout the year, you will also have the opportunity to write and, together with your fellow students, release your own worship songs. Standing in a process where an idea becomes a finished song — one that may go on to bless people you may never meet — is powerful, challenging, and incredibly fun. You’re given the tools to express what God has placed in you, and the courage to let your voice be heard.

In addition, we travel to visit renowned worship communities, both in Norway and abroad. There, you’ll experience how worship takes shape in different cultures and contexts, meet people who share your passion, and be inspired by environments that shape worship on an international level. These are moments that bring insight, build relationships, and ignite new dreams.

Choosing Worship as your focus is not only about becoming more musically skilled — it’s about growing as a worship leader, as a creative, and as a follower of Jesus. Many students find that this year opens doors, breaks boundaries, and strengthens their faith in the path God is calling them to walk.
